Holiday Greetings to all WCYC Member!

The holidays come with cheer and the vaccine is here for COVID- 19! While we are not out of the woods yet, the forecast for gathering with friends and getting hugs from family looks promising!  With a light at the end of the tunnel it’s time to start to think about our lakes, ice out, and the best part of living on the lakes:  boating and water activities.

I’ll give you a little update on WCYC 2020:  We did not have our social events, but we DID have a boat parade!  Let’s get this on the calendar for next August as we had a fine day and lots of people on shore waving and clapping as we went around the lakes.

We’ve got a new website so please, take a look!  We have merchandise for sale, you can renew your membership, or find out when classes are scheduled again.  The web address is www.wcyc.info.

Our financial picture remains good.  We stayed in the black and have budgeted $22,000 for our various classes, and other obligations.  We are supporting the Army Corp of Engineers in 2021 with a donation to help get a new dock in place. (We use this area for swimming classes).  Our $3700 donation is met with other donations from our community, showing once again, how our community works together to achieve great outcomes.

We have been the recipient of donations from our members and, also from others as a way of memorializing loved ones.  Our financial position shows how others sees the mission of the WCYC as something they can support.  The goal of our board in 2021 will be to get this message out to our visitors, businesses and new lake homeowners through ads, articles and face to face meetings.

When you are out on the lakes, and you see our buoys, let that be a reminder of what we all do as members, to keep boaters and swimmers safe on the lakes.  If you know of someone who is new to our area, please introduce them to the WCYC or send a message to our website www.wcyc.info.

Thanks for your continued support of the WCYC.
